Should you build a Telegram Mini-App in 2026?
Over the past year we shipped 7 Telegram Mini-Apps. The experience gives a clear filter: when to and when not to.
Do it if:
- Your audience is already on Telegram (CIS, DACH region, lots of B2C) - Every second of onboarding matters (Mini-App = zero install friction) - The product fits in 5-8 screens - You need a fast MVP to validate a hypothesis - Mass push notifications are planned
Don't do it if:
- Primary audience is in the US / Western Europe (TG is weak there) - Product is more complex than 20 screens - Need heavy graphics (3D, WebGL) — Mini-App is slower than native - App Store / Play Store marketing is planned - Deep device integration is required (BLE, motion, camera-heavy)
Real numbers from our cases
Marketplace bot `serg_accs_bot`: 10k+ users in 3 months, GMV $180k. An equivalent website would have 3x lower conversion — can't beat zero install friction.
CRM bot for B2B (client under NDA): 340 users. Product was complex, users kept asking for a "desktop version". Should have started as a website.
Bottom line
A Mini-App isn't a universal recipe — it's a tool for a specific situation. Ask yourself: "Is my user already on TG? Does my product fit 5-8 screens?" Two yeses — go for it.
